My Very First Photo ShootSo, I used to have a big thing against taking pictures of people. I wanted to take pictures of trees, bridges, barns, waterfalls, cows...anything but people! Then one day, my sister convinced me to take pictures of my nephew for her: he was 18 months old. I reluctantly agreed, so she brought him out to the farm for my very first portrait session. Sure, this is one of the most difficult ages out there, but I realized it wasn't so bad afterall. I actually liked it! Kids can just be who they are...they just play. You don't have to intrude so much in their lives, actually I liked it better when I DIDNT intrude. It took a little while for word to spread and for my business to grow, but this was the start of something new for me. I still love taking pictures of kids the absolute best. Thought you might want to see a few from where it all began. Here are some of my favorites:
I actually like the above image so much, that I include it in the "country life" gallery of "fine art" section and also sell it in my booth at festivals!
This one is also available in the "country life" gallery of the "fine art" section. These are the only 2 portrait images I've put in the art galleries. Of course, a special thank you to my sister who believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. She still does, and now there are two of these little guys that I get to take pictures of all the time! For more images like these, go to the "Little Kids" gallery of the "Lifestyle Portraits" section.
