Fine Art Friday: Fall Creek Falls
THIS is Fall Creek Falls...in all her glory! Ok, so I've never been very impressed by it. Her claim to fame is that at 256 feet high, it's the highest waterfall in the Eastern US. Tallest, not biggest. Not the most water or most impressive. But, I'll give them that, it is verrrry tall. Especially when you're afraid of heights and are trying to get a picture of the falls from the tippy top.
Yes, THAT is me on the ledge trying to get a good picture of the falls. Now, those who know me are aware that I'm afraid of heights. It's an actual physical reaction. I get dizzy, my knees get weak, and I feel like I'm going to fall. Thus, at that point, getting close to the ledge is probably a real danger. I was ok at this point, but then Lucas stepped in FRONT of my tripod and came around to the left side of me. The front. I sat straight down on the rock behind me, yelled at him, and almost threw up all at once. Yeah, he got way too much joy out of that reaction. Anyway...there's a trail where you can hike down to the bottom of the falls. There are lots of warnings not to play in it, but people are constantly down there swimming or playing under the falls.
